What is pizza margareta?

Pizza Margherita is a classic Italian pizza made with a thin crust, tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil leaves. It was named after Queen Margherita of Savoy in the late 19th century when she visited Naples and asked for a pizza that represented the colors of the Italian flag: red (tomatoes), white (mozzarella), and green (basil). The pizza has since become one of the most famous and beloved pizzas in the world and is often considered the standard for all other pizzas. It is typically cooked in a wood-fired oven and served hot and bubbling straight out of the oven.
